A recent article in the Montreal Gazette reported that childhood obesity has tripled in the last 25 years.  Indeed 25% of children between the ages 2 and 17 are overweight or obese, and if you limit the sample to 12-17 year old’s, it’s 29%. These numbers were actually taken from statistics taken in 2004 and compared to numbers from the last time prior to 2004 that height and weight were recorded from a nationally representative portion of Canadians (1978/79).  I wouldn’t be surprised if the numbers had jumped even higher in the last 6 years.
